Hello Amarillo!

Howdy, y’all!  We are finally here in the blogosphere.

In preparation for this blog, we have discovered that writing the first post is really hard to write. We even resorted to “Googling” things to write in the first blog post. We learned we are supposed to engage, educate, enlighten, and do a bunch of other technological and social media key words (that probably start with ‘e’). So here we go!

ENGAGE: HOWDY! How are you?

EDUCATE: Did you know that the Tri-State Exposition is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Funds generated through events at the Tri-State Exposition complex go to support local students in the Panhandle. Each year more than 600 volunteers, donors and sponsors contribute to the Amarillo Tri-State Exposition’s mission of serving youth and showcasing our proud cultural heritage. Each year the Tri-State Exposition awards more than a half Million Dollars in premiums, scholarships and other forms of giving to the area’s youth.

ENLIGHTEN: We don’t want this blog to just restate the details posted on our web site. Sure, we will still tell you when tickets go on sale and what the entertainment line-ups for the fair are going to be – but we want this space to reflect who we are and what we do. Our knowledgeable staff is passionate about all of the events held at our expo center each year (that’s over 100 events every year!)

Hopefully, it won’t just be a one sided look at life at the Tri-State Exposition. We plan on talking with community members and industry leaders we work with and encounter along the way. That means we want to hear from YOU! The Tri-State Exposition holds a lot of memories for people around the Texas Panhandle and across the nation. Do you remember the first time you came to the Fair? Or attended an event at the Amarillo National Center? I bet you do.

So, that’s it, our first blog post. We hope you feel engaged, educated and enlightened. We look forward to you coming back and checking in with us from time to time. Feel free to leave comments or contact the Exposition office. We also hope you will stay connected with us on our web site, sign up for our e-mail newsletters and “like” our Facebook page.
